Opening of the Women's Safety Unit of the University Main Hospital Department of Nassa and Obstet

The Unit was established in collaboration between Mansura University, the National Council for Women and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).It is competent to receive and provide medical and psychological support and services to women in distress.In the presence of Jermaine Haddad of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), A. D. Nasrin Omar,former Dean of the School of Mansoura medicine and, Member of the Parliament, A.D. Basma Schumann, Agent of the Faculty of medicine.A.D. Orders Abu Sa'd as Dean of medical faculty Prof. Hamed Youssef, Head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Prof. Dr. Sahar El Dakroury, Head of the Department of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology, Prof. Maha Shaheen, Head of the Medical and Humanitarian Support Committee, Dr. Samah Al-Saeed, Coordinator of the Unit for Combating Violence against Women. Prof. Ashraf Abdel Basset emphasized the importance of establishing the new unit to provide medical services and necessary support to battered women and noted that the university had established an anti-violence against women unit to confront all forms of violence. An email and page on the social networking site was created for women inside the university to report violence and harassment inside the university. The university demanded the National Council for Women to establish a complaints fund as another way to receive complaints from women who could not use social media, and also demanded to amend or add a clause in the Universities Organization Law allowing the president of the university to immediately dismiss the harassing student and refer him to the Disciplinary Board. Prof. Hamid Youssef reviewed the university’s interest The establishment of specialized units to receive the battered woman, and that the unit is equipped with all that the woman needs to provide medical care from a place of examination and equipment Sonar with following the confidentiality and privacy of all data of cases that are exposed to violence. Prof. Maha Shaheen showed that the Mansoura College of Medicine has started various stages of dealing with battered women. The college is also endeavoring to establish a new unit for the protection of women and provide all kinds of support and medical care. Many medical courses have been held for the medical and nursing staff on how to deal with battered women and provide Psychological support and providing a safe environment for her.
